Course Information

Steps to enroll in an EMT Course:

1) Read the Texas Department of State Health Services Information Links on Certification and Licensure, Job Description and Disabilities Accommodations Act, listed under LINKS at the end of this page.

2) Verify you have the required registration documents listed on our FAQ page.

3) Be certain to begin your Hepatitis B Vaccine Series as soon as possible, if you have not completed it already.  This vaccine is required to be completed before your clinical rotations can begin.  *You can still register for an EMT course if you have not started your series, however your clinical times may be pushed out if you do not start the series in time.

4)Sign up for the mandatory Health Care Provider CPR card with EMTS.  Click Here   A class will be held prior to the start date of your course.  EMT student cost is $25.00.

NOTE: EMTS only accepts AHA CPR Health Care Provider cards that were obtained no later than 6 months prior to class from these three locations:  EMTS EMS Academy, Williamson County EMS, and Austin/Travis County EMS.  Even if you have a current CPR card, if it is from another source, you will need to take another CPR class from one of the approved sources listed here.  There are no exceptions.

5) Pick the class you would like to take and submit a registration request form.

6) Call 255-EMTS (3687) to reserve your 15 minute registration block after you fill out the registration request form for the class you would like.

7) Bring to registration your immunization documentation, background check, ID and your first payment. Registration is held at the classroom office.
