Matt Nealand, Licensed Paramedic, TDSHS EMS Educator, NAEMSE Instructor II
Matt has an extensive background working in fire departments and EMS agencies throughout the country. Starting at a young age, he volunteered as a cadet for the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department. He attended Western Illinois University and received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. While at WIU, he received his Paramedic certification and lived at the Macomb Fire Department as a student firefighter.
In 1999, he moved to Austin and began working for Austin/Travis County EMS. During his time working for Austin/Travis County, he ran over 10,000 EMS calls. In addition, he gained experience in Special Operations areas such as high-angle, confined space, and swift-water rescue. In 2003, Matt moved to Sitka, Alaska and worked as the EMS Captain. He was in charge of all aspects of a small, rural fire-based EMS system.
Matt currently is a Paramedic preceptor for Williamson County EMS. He is a Licensed Paramedic and EMS Instructor. In addition, he is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Management of EMS course.
Terri King holds a Masters in Education and is the Commander of Clinical Practices for Williamson County EMS.

Michael Broadwater, Licensed Paramedic
Michael became an ECA in 1987 with the Mission Volunteer
Fire Department in Mission Texas.He moved on to become an EMT and work for a private ambulance company in
1990 and obtained his Paramedic Certification in 1992.In 1993 he began teaching part-time for
TSTC in McAllen and went to work for the City of Brownsville EMS.In 1994 he began working for South
Texas Community College (STCC) in McAllen (formally TSTC) and obtained his
Associates of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Technology in 1995.In 1997 he became the Program Chair for
the EMT Program at STCC until he left to work for Austin EMS in 2000.
Currently Michael is a Commander for
Austin-Travis County EMS and is working on the prerequisites for the Nursing
Program.He also teaches ACLS
classes and has taught BTLS and PHTLS in the past.
Jeff Fishel, EMT-P
Jeff Fishel attended Miramar College in San Diego, CA to become an EMT. He worked with a BLS transfer Ambulance for one year prior to obtaining his Paramedic with EMSTA Colleges. As a Paramedic he has worked in the busy/exciting San Diego, CA 911 system. During that time he also taught Paramedic and EMT classes.
Jeff now works with Williamson County EMS, instructs for EMTS and is the Medical Team Leader for an event holding organization in San Diego. For Jeff, teaching is a passion.
